Cool-Season Grasses
Cool-season grasses thrive in regions with cold winters and moderate summers. They grow most actively in spring and fall, when temperatures range between 60–75°F.
- Kentucky Bluegrass – Lush, deep green color and excellent recovery from wear. Great for family yards and sports areas.
- Perennial Ryegrass – Fast germination and ideal for overseeding thin lawns.
- Fine Fescue – Low-maintenance and shade-tolerant, perfect for busy dads who don’t want to mow as often.
- Tall Fescue – Durable and drought-tolerant, adapts to a variety of soil conditions.
Best for: Northern and transition zones of the U.S. (where winters are cold and summers mild).
